In order to meet the demand of planting or greening port facilities, a series of experiments on porous concrete in which plants can grow their roots was carried out. Experimental parameters were grain size distribution of coarse aggregates, type and replacement ratio of mineral admixtures, water-binder ratio, binder-aggregate ratio and so on. Items such as strength, void ratio, permeability, alkalinity, durability against sea water attack were studied.
