Executive Summary

The fast rehabilitation method of the airport concrete pavement is tried to develop by using the semi-rigid material, composed of asphalt mixture and cement milk injected into its voids, as the overlay material. In a laboratory, the strength gaining property and the fluidity retaining ability of the cement milk and the strength of the semi-rigid material were examined. In a field test, an experimental overlay project using the semirigid material selected through the laboratory test was constructed.
As a result, main conclusion are obtained as follows:
1) The curing period before opening to traffic depends on the strength of the cement milk. The period can be shortened by increasing the temperature of the asphalt mixture at the cement milk injection.
2) The strength of the sesmi-rigid material increases with that of the asphalt mixture. The durability of the semi-rigid material against the aircraft load can be assured by using modified asphalt.
