In-Situ Verification Test of Lift-Up Method for PC Pavements

Executive Summary

 Lift-up method of settled prestressed concrete (PC) pavements has been developed. In order to establish this procedure, PC pavement with the actural size (100m long, 55.5 m wide and 18 cm thick) has been constructed on the reclaimed ground where an expansion project to Tokyo International Airport is conducted. Throught the various kinds of lift-up tests at the site, the validity of this newly developed method has been confirmed.
 The main conclusions are as follows;
(1)PC pavement with actural size has been lifted up as it had been arranged. The validity of finite element analysis for designing the lift-up process has been ascertained.
(2)The PC pavement has been lifted up repetitively from measuring the pavement level to grouting void under the slab.
(3)Grouting system used herein has supplied cement paste for grouting the void beneath the slab satisfactorily.
