This Paper is a consolidation as a material for dsign of fending systems for mooring facilities in a port to suit a purpose of both berthing and mooring ships.
　As for berthing, collected and put together data of added mass, berthing speed and eccentircity factor of berthing ships, and also investigated and put together the prestn state of rubber fenders at berths available for conventional general cargo ships. Correlations between ship size and such kind as fender kind, size, setting height and setting interval are obtained and presetned materials for stadardization of fenders. Furthermore, discussion was made on the treatment berthing impacts as extraordinary loading and allowable stress of such as steel members larger than that for normal loading.
