An embankment has being wasted away and destroyed by wave forces, traffic loads, settlement of ground, etc.
　In this process cracks on the surface, unevennesses at joints, scattering of rubble mound for foot protection, etc.are apparent, which are considered wasting index of embankment.
　This paper presents the relationship of apparent wasting index and degree of wasting of embankment caused by wave forces....which is getting through field reserch.
