Executive Summary

Five kinds of airport test pavements for large aircraft were made on the subgrade of high water content loam. These pavements were tests by full scale and static repeated loadings.
After the asphalt pavements were compared mutually about the stress and settlemet of the subgrade, the effects of cement stabilized and asphalt stabilized materials were somewhat made clear. Test results also showed that the design load of the jumbo jet (B-747) might be considered to be 1.05 to1.10 time as much as its gear load.
The design method of the continuously reinforced concrete pavement was confirmed to be safe as the result of comparing it with the nonreinforced concrete pavement about the stress and settlement of the subgrade, the settlement of the subbasse, the stress in the concrete slab, and the bearing capacity of the pavement.
