This facility is for investigating the mechanical properties of port, coast and airport structures and their components by conducting structural loading tests on large-scale models. To bear the reaction against applied forces and support the models and loading machines, strong, rigid floors and walls are required. This facility has a two-directional load-bearing wall of 7 m in height and a load-bearing floor of 15 m x 16.5 m in area.

* To maintain the reaction against applied force during loading tests, the reaction wall is 2 m thick.
