About PARI Main Research facilities

Comprehensive anti-disaster experiment facility

By numeric simulation using a high-performance computer and hydraulic model experiments, this facility is for comprehensively clarifying disaster mechanisms and measures to prevent tsunamis from causing devastating damage and to prevent the high waves and long-cycle wave motions of large typhoons and storms from damaging port structures.

* The wave generator features a unique system that combines piston-type and flap-type technology for efficient and effective wave control even when the tank is narrow.
