Executive Summary

 To introduce the technique of reinforced earth methods to construction of port facilities such as sea revetment, the applicability of the technique is examined. This research aims to investigate the effect of using coarse geotechnical material in the reinforced area and the ground condition on the behavior of the reinforced rebetment. Pullout tests are conducted for the former aim and centrifuge model tests are carried out for the letter aim.
 Main conclusions are as follows;
 1.Multi anchored type reinforced method is applicable to the construction of sea revetments.
 2.The caisson type revetment of small width improved by reinforced earth can have more stability than the caisson of ordinal width has.
 3.Introduction of imaginary width of the caisson can explain the stability increment by reinforced earth.
