Executive Summary

Since 1970, the Port and Harbour Research Institute (PHRI) has been cooperating with the Ports and Harbours Bureau, Ministry of Transport, and its associated agencies, on the Nationwide Ocean Wave information network for Ports and HArbourS ( NOWPHAS ).
For Appropriate use of the NOWPHAS wave observation data, requires information on the observation facilities such as types and locations ( longitude, latitude, depth and seabed topography ) of the wave gauges and data processing systems. For this purpose, the first version note was published in 1982 as a PHRI technical note No.418, and the second version note was published in 1994 as the note No.782. Five years have passed since then, and during the time there have been many changes of the NOWPHAS facilities.
This technical note is the third version, introducing 64 wave observation stations, 80 tide stations, and 87 wind stations, based on the unified forms as follows.
(1)The location of the observation stations
(2)The specification of the wave observation system
(3)The block diagram of the wave observation system
(4)The specification of the tide observation system
