Executive Summary

This report reports the records obtained in 1995 and 1996 at the port area strong motion network. The records obtained by this observation network are categorized by earthquake, and are included in the Strong-Motion Earthquake Observation Results in this report along with the earthquake specifications, observation points, record numbers, maximum acceleration, etc. It is summarized. The seismic data in the strong motion observation table is based on the "Earthquake Monthly Report" and "Earthquake and Volcano Summary" issued by the Earthquake and Tsunami Monitoring Division of the Japan Meteorological Agency. In addition, the record numbers of the strong motion records are assigned in the order in which the records were sent from each observation point. ``M'' indicates records obtained by ERS-B, -C, and -D seismographs, and ``F'' indicates records obtained by ERS-F and -G seismometers. Among the records summarized in the table of strong motion observations, for records with maximum acceleration exceeding 20 Gal, the reproduced acceleration waveforms are shown as observation results. In addition, for relatively large records with maximum acceleration exceeding 50Gal, the corrected acceleration record waveform, velocity waveform, displacement waveform, response spectrum, Fourier spectrum, and trajectories of acceleration, velocity, and displacement in the horizontal plane are also shown. .
In 1995, the Hyogo-ken Nanbu Earthquake (M=7.2) occurred on January 17, and many records of the mainshock and aftershocks were observed in the port area strong motion network. These records provided very important information for the restoration of the port facilities of Kobe Port, which had been severely damaged. These records have already been reported in detail in another report, ``Strong motion records in the port area of the 1995 Hyogo-ken Nanbu Earthquake''. In addition, several aftershocks of the 1994 Sanriku Haruka-oki Earthquake (M=7.5) were observed during 1995. reported in the record.
