Executive Summary

In this study, we developed a method to predict uneven subsidence of wide-area ground due to liquefaction. In this prediction method, in order to rationally reflect actual complex ground conditions in the calculation of differential settlement, the spatial variation of ground physical property values and the horizontal correlation, and the three factors among soil elements that cause settlement, are investigated. It is assumed that dimensional interactions are taken into account. The physical properties of the ground here mean the N value, layer thickness, etc., which are related to the density of differential settlement due to liquefaction, and the prediction results for differential settlement are calculated as probabilistic solutions using the Monte Carlo method. is.
In order to understand and examine the basic features of the developed method, we performed example calculations using the number of trial calculations and ground conditions as parameters. As a result, in this prediction method, it was confirmed that the correlation in the horizontal direction between the ground N-value and the liquefaction layer thickness has a large effect on the differential settlement of the ground.
