Executive Summary

Maritime surface wind, which is used as external force condisions for wave hindcasting and storm surge simulation, is investigated by observed wind data. And an atmospheric boundary layer model and a wind hindcasting model for inland sea including land topography are also developed. Main conclusions are following:
1 Maritime surface wind speed estimated by the atmospheric boundary layer model agree with observed wind data.
2 From the analysis of observed wind data on inland sea surface, an emperical formula including both effects of fetch length and land topographyis obtained. And it is clarified that speed of inland maritime surface wind becomes high in proportion as fetch length inceases.
3 A hybrid wind hindcasting model for marine surface wind on inland sea which is combained the emperical formla and the MaSCON model is developed. The model is taken account of land topography effects for maritime surface wind and gives an accurate windprofile which agrees with obtained data on Ise Bay.
