It is often observed that bridges located in port area are damaged by undesirable impacts resulting from severe natural conditions. In order to keep the function of the facilities in good condition, it is important to maintain the facilities effectively.
　From this point of view, the investigation for the maintenance technology of port and coastal bridges has been done, considering the characteristics of deterioration of the bridges and the causes as well. The contents of this paper is the reference materials for the engineers who inspect, evaluate and repair the bridges.
