Executive Summary

For slurry transport method in the pipeline such as air-lift, air have been used effectively for many years. In recent years, at marine construction fields, the need of transporting the mud slurry at high density is increasing, so many slurry transport systems using air are developed for its advantages defending the pipeline from clogging and separating air from slurry easily at reclaimed land. The purpose of this research is to investigate air mixed slurry flow pattern, flow resistance, effect of air injection tot the transport system and so on to apply and design those system suitably to the work.
Pipeline using dredging work basically consist of vertical and horizontal pipe and this report describe about the flow characteristic of liquid-solid-gas three phase flow and the effect of air injection to the outlet of the slurry pump on the whole transport system in vertical pipe.
