Executive Summary

 Based on two surveys, a survey on port cargo flow and a study of domestic net cargo flow, several aspects of cargo flow on agricultural and marine products in Japan are studied.
 Results of the study are as follows:
1)A study of domestic net cargo flow shows that origin/destination of domestic cargo in Japan are mainly cities where major ports are located. This fact mean that Japanese ports play very important role on cargo flow on agricaltural products.
2)A survey on port cargo flow shows that origin/destination industry of port cargo comes to various industry types. not only traditional port related industries but also retails and food service industries.
