This report describes the outline of document retrieval system which was developed as a port of extensive data base system of port and harbour engineering.
　By using the document retrieval system, each user can register, rterieve, renew, delete and print any document data provided that the data satisfies the necessary format requirement.
　Each user can create private system for his own useas well as global system where a lot of people use the data in common. By the use of interactive terminals, users can easily create document retrieval system which satisfies their own needs.
