A new method to predict the rate of sedimentation in channels and basins combining physical model and numerical model is proposed. The sediment movement was calculated by using the bottom layer currents obtained by fixed-bed model experiments and Bijker's model of bed material suspension. It has been concluded that this method is superior to reproduce the prototype sea bottom change.
　This method was compared with three dimensional mathematical models which are commonly used for the prediction of the sea bottom change.
