Executive Summary

This study aimed to develop a removal technique for spilt oil sticking to beaches and coastal structures.
For removing stuck oil on reefs and coastal structures, authors examined an oil removal efficiency of water jet method. It was possible to increase its efficiency by mixing sand particles into the water jet.
As for restoration of beaches contaminated by oil, an availability of ultrasonic wave washing method was examined, and authors proposed a slurry jet method with the aid of ultrasonic wave washing method, which was newly developed in this study and showed good oil removal efficiency.
Authors also discussed an oil contamination distribution on the seashore, and separation technique of oil contaminated rubbish from beach sand.
