Executive Summary

 In this report, interrelations among the several characteristic dimensions of ships in all over the world, such as length, width, draft, mast height, gross tonnage, deadweight tonnage and so on, are analyzed through the regression analysis.
 The kinds of ships are cargo ships, tanker, ore carrier, passenger boat, ferry,lumber carrier, and container ship.
 The data were gained from Lloyd's Register of Ships and Register of Japanese Shipping.
 So, these analytic results are expected to be used for the design and planning of the port facilities.
