Executive Summary

On the planning of loading berths of petroleum products following two factors should be taken into consideration as its own characteristics:
 i) Owing to the efficient loading operation, ships' stay at loading berth are extreamingly short.
ii) Rather high berth occupancy is assumed in the designing of this type of berth.
These characteristics have not clearly been recognized and results come out as the shortage of anchorage basin within the port. This phenomenon is amplifiered in so-called articial harbour where the spaces for expansion are highly restricted. In this report, manouvers of coastal tankers in the port have been analysed and daily patterns of i) arrival, ii) departure, and iii) number of stay are made clear. Some of characteristics are also calculated for the input of further analysis.
