Executive Summary

Demand of crashed stone for concrete has become increased because of shortage of river gravel and increace of public works. Some port and harbour construction offices have used crashed stone for whole concrete structures. Though it was considered that crashed stone concrete had such disadvantages as high cost and low plasticity compared to river gravel concrete, those defects have been improved based on technical development of production of crashed stone and circumstance of coarse aggregate at the constrution fields.
This paper describes the main problems of crashed stone and crashed stone concrete used for port and harbour structures. Namely, quality of crashed stone, property of crashed stone concrete and method of casting and placing of crashed stone concrete were summarized referring to several codes and research works done by many researches. In addition, mix proportioning of crashed stone concrete was temporarily proposed.
