Executive Summary

Movement of exporting general cargoes in port area are investigated in Port of Kobe.
 As a sample, 5 general cargo ships are chosen and questionnaires are distributed to the related shipping agents, stevedoring, and wharehousing companies.
 Analysis on the following items are worked out based on the questionnaires :
 i) Distribution of final stock points.
 ii) Distribution of cargo volumes to eachstock point.
 iii) Timming of cargo movement to and from final stock points.
 iv) Lot size of cargo movement.
 Results will be utilized to systems analysis of port.
