Executive Summary

The primary report described the structural features of the dry-dock construction and the results of laboratory and field investigation on prepacked concrete for the deck slab of the dock and presented some recommendations for improvement of prepacked concrete method.
In succession to the primary report, this supplementary report describes the results of investigation on the problems such as the delay and amendments required in the scheduling of works, the leakage from the deck slab which occured several months after the completion of the dry dock, and the counter meausure for the leakage. Also reported are the actual results achieved on the various processes of works other than prepacked concrete.
With these two reports the authors intended to present the informations necessary to systematize the dry dock construction methods on a sandy soil as in the case at Port Kashima, which became practicable through combining the steel piling method with prepacked concrete.
