The object of this model experiment is to obtain the relevant hydraulic values and the amount of scouring both qualitatively and quantitatively in order to seek the proper Tsunami-protection method, which could not be pursued theoretically alone, with the aim to reduce the future disaster in the port of Kochi caused by the probable Tsunamis.
　The scale of the model basin used in this experiment is taken to 1/200 in horizontal and 1/100 in vertical, the latter being decided in consideration of the necessary depth of water for the measurement of the current velocity.
