Wave Group
We are studying on sea waves. The offshore waves propagate to the coast with changing their direction, height and shape due to shallow water bathymetry and some obstacles such as lslands, capes and breakwaters. In order to protect the harbors and coasts and to use them safely, we are investigating various phenomena of sea waves and proposing wave control techniques by using the large wave basins equipped serpent-type wave makers and the numerical wave transformation models developed to get high accuracy in practical use.

Greetings
Group Leader I can remember that I took a lot of interests in the waters of the river eroding the banks and expanding the river width in a sandbox in my childhood. Studying civil engineering in my school days might have some influence on such memories. The sea waves also can erode the coasts and change the topography. The breakwater prevents ships and vessels from storm waves in ports and harbors. I expect that studying on such sea waves will be more useful for people. |
