Ashika-jima Marine Observation Station

Wave and wind observation has been conducted at the Ashika-jima marine observation station since 1962. Ashika-jima marine observation station located at the entrance of Tokyo Bay, where proto-type field experiments have been carried out to develop some coastal measurement equipments. Ultrasonic Wave Gauge(USW), Current Meter Type Wave Direction Gauge(CWD) are examples of such equipment.A new 10-layer Doppler-type Wave Directional Meter(DWDM) was introduced there in 2010. Ashika-jima marine observation station is one of the wave observation stations of NOWPHAS wave network.
